The MJR Group and Universal Attractions invite you to stop, collaborate and listen to the biggest 90’s tour announce for 2017.

What do the hits ‘Push It’, ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’, ‘Ice Ice Baby’, ‘Funky Cold Medina’, ‘Bust a Move’ and ‘I Wanna Sex U Up’ have in common? They are some of the most iconic songs of the 90s and this coming September 2017, MJR gives you the artists behind the hits, together for one big party!

After selling out arenas across America, ‘I Love the 90s’ invites the UK to reminisce about the trend-setting decade with some of the most iconic, indelible names in rap, hip hop and R&B. With live sets from Vanilla Ice, Salt N Pepa, Coolio, Color Me Badd, Tone Loc, and Young MC, ‘I Love the 90’s’ is set to be the year’s biggest party with dancefloors across London, Glasgow, Belfast, Dublin, Liverpool, and Birmingham ready for move busting.

VANILLA ICE
Rapper, actor and reality star Vanilla Ice is one of the 90s most recognisable names, with his global crossover hit ‘Ice Ice Baby’ crossing rap over to the mainstream. His platinum record ‘To the Extreme’ is one of the highest selling rap albums of all time while his extracurricular activities have including ICP’s Juggalo Championship Wrestling, appearing in reality series ‘Surreal Life’, cameos in a dozen films and competing in this year’s US Dancing with the Stars

SALT N PEPA (WITH SPINDARELLA)
The world’s most iconic female rap group Salt n Pepa have been delighting audiences for over three decades with hits including ‘Let’s Talk About Sex’, ‘Push It’, ‘Shoop’, ‘Whattaman’ and many more. They became the first female rap artists to win a Grammy Award and their 1993 album ‘Very Necessary’ remains the best-selling album from a female rap act. 

COOLIO
A global phenomenon, Gangsta’s Paradise was the highest selling single of 1995 hitting the #1 spot across the world and cementing Coolio as one of the decade’s most important rap stars. With subsequent dancefloor hits including ‘Fantastic Voyage’ and 1,2,3,4 (Sumpin New)’ and a lengthy list of TV and film credits, Coolio remains a major force.

COLOUR ME BADD
One of the first purveyors of the 90s new jack swing movement, Color Me Badd were one of the original boy bands, with their smash hit ‘I Wanna Sex You Up’ delighting teenagers and concerning parents right across 1991. Their Followup hits ‘I Adore Mi Amore’ and ‘All 4 Love’ made the band one of the biggest vocal groups in the world as they topped the US charts and became fixtures in the Australian top 10

TONE LOC
With two million-selling singles ‘Wild Thing’ and ‘Funky Cold Medina’, Tone Loc was one of the early 90s biggest stars with his Grammy and American Music Award nominated album ‘Loc-ed After Dark’ becoming one of the most important rap albums of the 90s.

YOUNG MC
Young MC broke through in the 90s with his seminal hit ‘Bust a Move’, which won him a Grammy for Best Rap Performance. He continues to release music with eight albums

Most shows have some form of flashing lights, strobes or pyrotechnics. Signage will be displayed advising customers of the details, if you have a condition that is directly affected by any of these please contact us before the performance and we can give you more details.

Most Liverpool city centre bound buses will call at either Queen Square bus station (a 15-minute walk) or Liverpool ONE Bus Station, which is only a five minute walk to Echo Arena.

The CityLink Route C4 bus links Queen Square bus station, James Street rail station and Liverpool ONE Bus Station to the venue. CityLink Route C4 operates every 20 minutes on Mondays to Saturdays and every 30 minutes on Sundays, between 7am – 8pm, with a maximum fare of £1 per journey. Merseytravel prepaid tickets, National Concessionary bus passes and Arriva day tickets are all valid on this service.

For all car journeys it's best to follow the white on brown tourist route signs for the Waterfront. These signs are visible on the major routes into the city. Echo Arena is situated on the Kings Dock directly adjacent to the south side of the Albert Dock. Upon arrival, the Kings Dock entrance is clearly sign posted. 

From the North...

Leave the M6 at junction 26 and follow signs for M58 Liverpool. Follow to end of M58 and then take signs for A59 Liverpool. Continue to follow Liverpool City Centre until picking up signs for the Waterfront.

From the South...

Leave the M6 at junction 21A and take the M62 to Liverpool. At the end of the M62 follow signs for Liverpool City Centre along Edge Lane, picking up and following signs for Waterfront. 

From the south...

Virgin Trains operates hourly, direct services from London Euston to Liverpool Lime Street (with a journey time of just over two hours). Other long-distance rail services also operate into Liverpool Lime Street station.

Echo Arena is a 20-minute walk from Lime Street or a short taxi ride. You can also transfer at Lime Street onto the underground Wirral Line trains to James Street station (10 minute walk) or catch the CityLink Route C4 (7am – 8pm) directly to the venue. If travelling from outside Merseyside, you can catch an underground train to James Street station from Lime Street station, inclusive of the cost of your ticket.

Flying into Liverpool John Lennon Airport...

A taxi from the airport to the city centre will take approximately 20 minutes or the express bus service Route 500 will take approximately 25 minutes, dropping you off within a five minute walk of Echo Arena, while Manchester’s international airport is just 45 minutes away by car.
