09 Jul 10 Status Quo

Status Quo are the latest act to sign up for The Summer Pops Festival, performing at the Echo Arena on Friday 9 July 2010.

Status Quo's total world-wide record sales exceed 118 million units and they have recorded 64 British hit singles - more than any other band. In 1981 Quo became one of the first recipients of the coveted Silver Clef Award, presented annually by the Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy Trust for outstanding services to British music. In 1985 Quo opened Live Aid with the song which was to become the event's anthem, 'Rockin' All Over The World'.

Founders Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt are the original members, with the remaining Quo line up including keyboard player Andrew Brown, John 'Rhino' Edwards on bass and Matt Letley on drums.

“We always love playing Liverpool because the audience is always so fantastic, we’re really looking forward to playing the Summer Pops” said singer Rick Parfitt.
