SUPPORT ACT ANNOUNCED: Sol3 Mio
Alfie Boe formerly known as ‘The Nation’s Favourite Tenor’ has announced details of his second UK arena tour, coming to Echo Arena for the first time on 30 November 2014.
Alfie is back – bringing the magic and romance of the Italian Riviera to the UK as he announces the release of his eagerly-awaited new album Serenata.
With his extraordinary voice, and natural feel for these songs, Alfie transports the listener to the warmer climes of the Amalfi Coast. On his version of the opening track, the million-selling 1958 hit Volare, Boe’s rich tone really does “fly”. This is followed by a breath-taking version of My Heart Is Yours, from the Academy Award-winning score to that most nostalgic of cinematic visions of 1950s Italy, Il Postino. Alfie then breathes new life into such loved hits as Mambo Italiano (Rosemary Clooney and Dean Martin, in 1954), Arrivederci, Roma (1955 for Perry Como), Mamma (Connie Francis in 1960), and Buona Sera (Louis Prima in 1958).
Sol3 Mio will be Alfie Boe’s Special Guests on this tour. Made up of two tenor brothers, Pene and Amitai Pati from Auckland, New Zealand and their baritone cousin Moses Mackay, SOL3 MIO is the combination of three powerful and moving operatic voices, with more than a dash of uncontainable Samoan humour.
