P!NK, DUFFY, THE KILLERS AND KID ROCK TO PERFORM AT 2008 MTV EUROPE MUSIC AWARDS

MTV Networks International announced a further four artists that will perform live at the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards. P!nk, Duffy, The Killers and Kid Rock will join Beyoncé with more performing artists being announced in the next few weeks. The 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards will be broadcast live from the Echo Arena, Liverpool - European Capital of Culture - on Thursday 6th November and are sponsored by edc by Esprit, Sony Ericsson and Dell.
"The line-up for the fifteenth MTV Europe Music Awards is shaping up to be one of the finest in the history of the Awards," commented Richard Godfrey, Senior Vice President, Music and Production & Executive Producer, MTV Europe Music Awards. "With these four artists joining the line-up the show promises to be a show-stopping night of great live performances."
Fresh from her stand-out performance of her new single 'So What' at the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles, Pink returns to the MTV Europe Music Awards for the third time. Having presented an award in 2001, she returned to perform successively in 2002 and 2003 she is nominated in Most Addictive Track for the same single.
Commenting on her forthcoming performance, P!nk said she was "so !!!king excited to perform on the MTV Europe Music Awards!"
Welsh soul-singer Duffy makes her MTV Europe Music Awards debut and is nominated in three categories. As well as being nominated for Album of the Year, Addictive Track and New Act, Duffy is also currently a nominee in the New UK & Ireland Act, sponsored by Virgin Trains, alongside Leona Lewis. If Duffy is successful in the New UK & Ireland Act she will lead with the most nominations in this year’s Awards.
The Killers will be taking to the stage in Liverpool following their debut at the 2006 MTV Europe Music Awards in Copenhagen. Having performed to an audience of over 7,500 people in the city's main Square Rådhuspladsen the band went on to win Best Rock Award.
Brandon Flowers, lead singer of the band said: "We are thrilled to be back to perform at the EMAs. The fact that it's in Liverpool is just caramel on the apple. It is, after all, the birthplace of music."
Kid Rock also makes his MTV Europe Music Award debut and is nominated for his most recent single, 'All Summer Long' - one of the biggest selling singles across Europe this summer.
"I'm overly and abundantly excited to be part of this year's MTV Europe Music Awards," said Kid Rock. "All the talented lip syncing and latest dance moves are sure to have any free-spirited music lover on the edge of their seat!! Rock On Liverpool!*"
Over the past 15 years with over 170 awards given out to solo artists and bands, this year's award winners will be joining a list that includes Justin Timberlake, Madonna, Spice Girls, Robbie Williams, Eminem, Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Linkin' Park, Bryan Adams, Take That, Tokio Hotel and at the last MTV Europe Music Awards new band Bedwetters.
In 2007 the MTV Europe Music Awards - broadcast on 19 channels across Europe as well as across the US and Asia - reached a total television audience of over 30 million people. Additionally, dedicated MTV Europe Music Awards websites saw a 35% increase year on year to three million unique visitors with total visits on show day (November 1st 2007), increasing by 75% compared to 2006. Over 78.8 million votes were cast (+360% vs 2006) and there were 200,000 unique WAP visitors (+305% vs 2006) and 3.2 million video streams. The 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards will continue to offer audiences multiple opportunities to engage with content via television, web and mobile and will be broadcast on 21 channels - in over 40 countries - across Europe.
