Jared Leto and 30 Seconds To Mars To Host VIP Bar
Triple-nominated Leona Lewis and Anastacia to present Awards

London, Monday 27th October 2008 - MTV Networks International today revealed that British duo The Ting Tings are the latest artists to join the line-up for the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards alongside Beyoncé,
P!nk, Duffy, The Killers, Kid Rock, Take That, Estelle and Kanye West. Hosted by Katy Perry the Awards will be broadcast live from the Liverpool Echo Arena, Liverpool - European Capital of Culture - on Thursday 6th November and are sponsored by edc by Esprit, Sony Ericsson and Dell.
"The fifteenth MTV Europe Music Awards will be remembered as a night of the incredible debuts," commented Richard Godfrey, Senior Vice President, Music and Production and Executive Producer, MTV Europe Music Awards. "The Tings Tings join Estelle, Kid Rock, Kanye West and Duffy who are performing at the MTV Europe Music stage for the very first time."
The Ting Tings' - Katie White and Jules De Martino - have released several massive singles this year including the UK number 1 hit 'That's Not My Name'. Their debut album 'We Started Nothing' also hit Number 1.
"We are really excited to be playing at the MTV Europe Music Awards, we get to have a lie in for once as it's only down the road from us in Liverpool. It's gonna be a great night before we set off on our European tour the following day," added Jules and Katie, The Ting Tings.
The five finalists were also revealed in the Europe's Favourite Act category - Leona Lewis (UK); Emre Aydin (Turkey); Dima Bilan (Russia); Finley (Italy); and Shiri Maimon (Israel). Over successive weeks across Europe MTV's audience have voted in an intense battle to see their favourite bands go through to final of Europe's Favourite Act. The final winner will be revealed live on Thursday 6th November.
Following the success of last year's VIP Bar, Jared Leto and members of 30 Seconds to Mars are to host the VIP Bar in the Echo Arena. The band is not nominated in the Rock Out and Video star categories and Leto will also present an award.
Triple-nominated Leona Lewis - in categories Album of the Year, Act of 2008 and Europe's Favourite Act - will also attend the MTV Europe Music Awards to present an award and is joined by Anastacia, multi-platinum singer songwriter. Anastacia last performed at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Rome (2004) and returned in 2005 in Lisbon with Leto as a presenter.
