It’s one apiece as golfers from live music venues around the UK clinched the ‘Rider’ cup from promoters and agents at the industry’s annual tournament.
A team consisting of players from arenas including Echo Arena Liverpool, The O2 and LG Arena and The NIA beat the winners of last year’s inaugural competition.
A total of two teams of eight players took part. On the promoters and agents side were Toby Leighton-Pope from Live Nation; Solomon Parker and Peter Price from WME; Paul Franklin; Jake Leighton-Pope; Nigel Hassler of CAA; Gary Howard of The Agency Group and Chris Wareing of SJM Concerts.
Their opponents included Tim Banfield, Ian Congdon and Dan White from Echo Arena Liverpool; Stephen Walton; Matt Evans from LG Arena and The NIA; Jeremy Hewitt of Global Merchandising Services; Julie Arnott and Rob Byrne of The O2. The venues won 10 – 6.
Main partners Echo Arena Liverpool, The O2 and LG Arena and The NIA hosted the day at Stoke Park Golf Course, Buckinghamshire.
Organiser Ian Congdon, Echo Arena Liverpool arena sales manager, said: “The Rider Cup is a great opportunity for us all to catch up outside of when we usually see each other during busy live events.
“Last year’s inaugural competition was so successful that we decided to make it an annual event and were really pleased with how many participants took part this year.
“Now that it’s one all there is a lot to play for at next year’s competition and we hope more players from UK arenas as well as promoters and agents will get involved.”
