The X Factor 2012 is officially underway as the Judges from the country's number one entertainment show head to Liverpool to find the UK's next budding star.
The Judging Panel, including Take That's Gary Barlow and music manager Louis Walsh will be greeted by thousands of hopefuls at Echo Arena Liverpool on Wednesday 23 May 2012.
Last year saw Crosby born singer Marcus Collins and Kirkby singer Craig Colton shine brightly, with Marcus finishing as runner-up and he has already achieved Top 10 chart success with his self titled album. Whilst the previous year, Anfield-born singer Rebecca Ferguson shot to fame and has already appeared at the Echo Arena as a solo artist and had platinum success with her debut album Heaven.
The X Factor team will take over the Echo Arena for three days as they record the live auditions, which will be televised when the show starts later in the year Beth Hart, Executive Producer, The X Factor, says: “We’re so excited that The X Factor is returning to Liverpool for auditions. Last year was the first time we’ve held auditions in the city and we were so knocked out by the amazing talent we found that we’ve had to come back for more. Liverpudlians Marcus Collins and Craig Colton both made Gary Barlow’s final three boys. Hopefully this year the girls, over 25s and groups will also show us Merseyside’s got The X Factor.”
