X-Factor season is officially underway as judges from the hit ITV1 show arrive in Liverpool to find the UK's next budding star.
Take That's Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh, Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland and N Dubz star Tulisa were greeted by thousands at ACC Liverpool, home to Echo Arena and BT Convention Centre, today July 13. The auditions are taking place Wednesday 13 and Thursday 14 July.
Round one of the auditions, which are being held in Liverpool for the first time this year, took place in March and this latest round will decide which talented hopefuls make it through to boot camp and take their first steps to stardom.
Anfield-born singer Rebecca Ferguson shot to fame following last year's show with live links aired from BT Convention Centre during the final. She also returned to Echo Arena during the X-Factor Live shows in March.
The X-Factor team will take over both the Echo Arena and BT Convention Centre as they record the live auditions, which will be televised when the show starts this autumn.
Ian Congdon, Echo Arena Sales Manager, said: "It is fantastic to welcome the X-Factor, the UK's most successful talent show, back to ACC Liverpool. "This is a brilliant opportunity for Liverpool, as a music loving city, to take centre stage on one of the most popular TV shows in the UK. We are delighted that both Echo Arena and BT Convention Centre will be hosting the X Factor team, as well as what promises to be a fantastic live audience and some very talented hopefuls from across the city and wider region."
