In our first year we attracted more than 618,000 visitors to 269 events, generating an economic impact of £207million to the city region. Since opening, we have attracted almost 6 million visitors to more than 3,000 events across our entire site and generated £1.3bn in economic benefit for the local economy.
The ACC Liverpool Group delivered £195m of economic benefit to Liverpool and the region in 2016. More than 600,000 visitors over 362 event days attended a mix of local, national and international conferences, public and trade exhibitions and arena events. Since opening in 2008, The ACC Liverpool Group has generated £1.3bn in economic benefit for the local economy.
Echo Arena Liverpool has played host to a raft of significant events from both the world of music and entertainment and sport. Echo Arena has been the venue of choice for the MOBO Awards, the MTV Europe Music Awards, the GB Judo World Cup, the British Gymnastics Championships and Davis Cup Tennis, to name but a few. In 2016 an exciting line-up of superstars from the world of music, comedy, sport and theatre came to the venue including Ellie Goulding, Disney on Ice, ELO and Elton John. 2017 has already seen a host of shows including Strictly Come Dancing, Bob Dylan and Bruno Mars. Future highlights include Phil Collins, Little Mix and John Bishop. BBC Sports Personality of the Year will return to the venue in December 2017. In July, Echo Arena unveiled its latest brand – Space by Echo Arena Liverpool will be for live events of up to 7,000 floor capacity in its sister venue Exhibition Centre Liverpool.
